ITV announced at the end of last year that Saturday Night Takeaway will be retuning this year. ITV have promised “big showbiz guests” & “hilarious hidden-camera set ups”

ITV also announced that the viewers should expect exciting new features.
"Every show will sign off in spectacular style when some of the country’s biggest and best performers take to the Takeaway stage for a one-off performance in the End of the Show Show, as the only series on TV that lets its’ audience ‘Win The Ads’ continues to be the happiest ninety minutes of the week. Expect high energy live entertainment from start to finish as Saturday night’s most feel-good series returns to kick start the weekend with a bang."

Ant & Dec today returned to work and shared a pic from the first day back filming for the hit Saturday night show. The duo shared a post to their instagram account with the caption "What the hell’s going on here? We’re back at work that’s what! Bit of covid-compliant @ itvtakeaway filming... Who’s excited for the new series? 👊"

Last years series ended just as the UK was placed in the first national lockdown. It is unclear weather the show will have a live studio audience but it is most likely to have a studio audience with with the ticket provider recently advertising the shows return.
It is unclear when the new series will start with the UK being placed in the third national lockdown, but with BGT being postponed the show could potentially fill the gap.
Saturday Night Takeaway airs later this year on ITV.
